XVI, The Tower
XVI, The Tower by Jenn Carbaugh
You uproot me.
You destroy what you can to make room for the new.
You can’t even humble me in this process.
You’re pulling the rug out so quickly,
but the glass is still breaking.
I’m breaking.
I’m jumping.
There’s no other way.
This destruction is your revelation, not mine.
Your hands are the dirty ones,
but I’m still managing how figure out why I was so naïve.
I...
"Seeing Nothing"
“Seeing Nothing”

I.
You see nothing.
I see something.
He is always there.
You still don’t see him.
I think I love him.
II.
Love is his momentum.
And he is only a soul.
I hate his chill.
But he embraces like silk.
I wish you could see him.
III.
Appearance captivates.
He motivates.
I hope he loves me back.
My mind is random.
He is the effortless reason.

Venus has recaptured me.
I can be Demeter,
Or go by the Earth Mother.
Oozing fertility, I hold a principle of feminity.
They call me the Goddess of multiplicity.
The fairies and the angels feel my aura.

A lush forest could be where I lay my head.
Home belongs in creativity,
And nature plays homage to my spirit.
I will maintain...

Prison of The XV (The Devil- tarot card)

Chains and fire are not always his comrades.
He is a prisoner of fear in caves with no exit.
The Satyr values more than eager addiction.
Passion and sexuality run deep within his wings.
Materialism sinks immensely below his horns.
He answers only to the goat of the Capricorn.
When he appears, ask about trickery in life.
Prepare yourself...

Walt Whitman Poem
A Noiseless, Patient Spider
I mark’d, where, on a little promontory, it stood, isolated; Mark’d how, to explore the vacant, vast surrounding, It launch’d forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself; Ever unreeling them—ever tirelessly speeding them. 5 And you, O my Soul, where you stand, Surrounded, surrounded, in measureless oceans of space, Ceaselessly musing, venturing,...
Be curious, not judgemental.

Foundation Fighting Blindness →
I have Retinitis Pigmentosa, which is a hereditary eye disease. I am visually impaired, but I still manage college life pretty well. It is a struggle. However, many people struggle with visual issues. Support the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Their site explains many eye conditions and shows how you can give your local support. Be aware of what is out there.

Gods Behaving Badly
Gods Behaving Badly is a book I read for my mythology class a few semesters ago. I am going to reread it for my third time shortly. It is an amazing book! It takes mythological deities with powers and busy London and meshes them together. Some gods live in a house together and are feeling the backlash of people not favoring mythology as a religion anymore. It is extremely funny. The gods...
